Elena And Damon Break-Up

What I really meant to say, The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have broken up in real life, just like their characters on the hit CW show. I think this is very sad news because I really liked the both of them as a couple. Both have dark features and they just really went well together. They dated for a really long time in Hollywood terms. Over 3 years they spent together and I was beginning to think they would be a celebrity couple that stay together forever.

Oh, well! Just like The Vampire Diaries, this isn’t a fairytale and they weren’t meant to be forever I guess, Tell me your thoughts on their break-up in the comment section.

Being Human Renewed

Syfy left us hanging on the fate of future Being Human seasons after this Monday’s season three finale. I was worried we weren’t going to get a season four renewal because of a few reasons. The ratings this year slipped a little where the past two seasons were relatively close to the same. I also was worried because last year they announced season three in February while season two was still on the air. Syfy decided to wait until a week after the finale to finally announce that it would be coming back on for a fourth season. I can’t wait until January 2014 when the fourth season premieres. The season three finale left so many cliffhangers that needed to be wrapped up before it was cancelled.

Being Human premiered January 2011 and is a remake of the popular BBC Three show Being Human. I watched the original on BBC America in 2010 and 2011, but haven’t seen past season two. Unlike MTV’s adaptation of Skins, Syfy let their Being Human be different from the original. The only episode that was made the same was the first one and they let the writers take off from their on their own. The Syfy writers purposely don’t watch the original to keep the North American different.

It was kind of interesting how during season one from one episode that season sort of follow along with the original. Since then the show has went through vastly different things and season three was the best. Like True Blood, Being Human tries some out of this world stuff that up until a few years ago probably wouldn’t have been on TV. It’s a show that has great stories, is never boring, and that I am so happy will be back for at least another season.

Do you watch Syfy’s Being Human? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

Walking Dead, Why You Gotta Hurt So Badly?

Last Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead was rather disappointing. The episode entitled “Arrow on the Doorpost” raked in 11.45 million people. It no doubt got a small bump in viewers after the reviews from last weeks episode amazingly great episode, “Clear” that brought in 11.30 million viewers.

The episode has to be one of the most boring in the series, which was made more bearable following one of the best episodes of the series the Sunday before last. The episode was pretty much just Rick and the Governor sitting at a table discussing ways to avoid going to war with each other. It was kind of pointless episode just because of that. We know there is going to be a war by the time this season is over. That’s a fact. There is no reason to have an episode of them discussing even avoiding a war.

The only highlight of the episode was Maggie and Glenn finally got to have sex. It also allowed Daryl and Herschel to bond with two of the Governor’s people. At first they were aggressive towards each other, but then began to bond. I think this may push some morals out int he open when the Governor has his people attack Rick’s people.

At the end of the episode, the Governor tells Rick that if he hands over Michonne, there won’t be a war. Of course that’s a bunch of bullshit and Rick never tells anyone at the prison, except for Herschel that the Governor said that. Rick feels like the Governor is lying and plans on killing all of them, but he’s not sure if he should risk it and turn Michonne into the Governor.

The theme this season on The Walking Dead is to have a really good episode and then follow is with two or three lackluster episodes. Sunday’s episode was definitely the worst of the worst. I really hope this war pushes the team back out of safety and on the road. I know I have said this in previous blog posts about the show, but I want next season to be on the road, without safety. A show about zombies shouldn’t lack intense, action-packed, and scary scenes.

I think this seasons problems have been what plagues most network shows. The extended sixteen episode run has allowed a lot of time that needs filler. A lot of these episodes have seemed to be filler-filled and that sucks. The first season having six episodes didn’t seem like enough. The second season had it right on with thirteen episodes. Though some episodes moved slow, it wasn’t nearly has bad with this season’s sixteen episode order.

So, now it is your turn to give me your thoughts on this particular episode, season, or series of The Walking Dead down below in the comment section.

Thank You, Walking Dead!

I would like to thank The Walking Dead for a phenomenal episode. I would even venture out to say that Sunday’s episode was probably the best episode of the season. I’d even go further out on a limb and say that it was probably one of the better episodes of the whole series.

What made this episode so good? I think this episode was so good because it took the show back to its roots, literally. In this episode  Rick, Carl, and Michonne head back to Rick and Carl’s hometown and where the whole series started. The whole reason for them coming here was to get weapons and ammo from the police station that Rick was sheriff. Once they get there they see the weapons and ammo are gone. They decide to go check some other places when the three run into Morgan, who saved Rick back at the beginning of the series. Morgan has made a “safe” sanctuary of sorts where he has been alone and driven crazy since his son died and turned into a zombie. Morgan is played by Lennie James who gave an awesome performance as this character. His acting was done very, very well. This episode also gave Michonne the chance to become less of an outcast in the group by helping Carl get a family photo, so that his baby sister can see what their mother looked like.

At the beginning of the episode, Michonne, Rick, and Carl weren’t enjoying each other’s company. Towards the end of the episode you can see that Carl has warmed up to her, and that leaves hope that the rest of the group, especially Rick, will accept her as one of their own as well. This episode finally gave Michonne more speaking parts. Up until now she mainly has grumbled or just done a damn good job of staring at the other people. I think she is an awesome character and probably one of my favourites. Daryl, who?

Now for the last and most important thing that I loved about this episode. I liked that the safety net of the prison’s walls weren’t in this episode. Even with the Governor’s war coming, the prison still feels too safe, which leads to boring episodes. The lack of safety is what kept most of season one going and entertaining. I am the last person who wants to be scared, but if I am watching a show about zombies, I want there to be zombies all over. The farm was too safe and that lead to boring episodes, and now the same has happened with the prison. I am hoping the war with Woodbury will force the group out of safety next season. I would love a season that’s dangerous and has the group nomadic the whole time.

What did you think about Sunday’s episode and what would you like to see in future episode and seasons? Let me know down below in the comment section.

Who Is Taylor’s New Song About

MTV releases a VMA promo with Kevin Hart and Taylor Swift(you can watch it below). It starts off with her strumming a guitar and kinda singing her new song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. Now originally I felt like the song was about Joh Mayer, but that doesn’t make too much sense to me considering her last song pretty much laid out that he hurt her badly, so they didn’t keep breaking up. It’s not Taylor Lautner because she says in “Back To December” that she would take him back. We know it isn’t the Jonas brother because he’s married now and she has already written three songs about that relationship. So, is it Jake? I wouldn’t have said the song was about Jake at first. I really can’t imagine Mr. Gyllenhaal breaking up and then getting back together like a little high school girl in a relationship, but I also can’t say he wouldn’t. Then in the VMA promo Kevin Hart holds up a picture of his head pasted over a pic of Taylor and Jake walking hand in hand. This leads me to believe the song is in fact about Jake and she told without really telling. That is my take on this latest lesson of Swiftology.

Greedy Networks?

Vlogosphere005— (07.17.2012) In recent months television networks have gotten seemingly greedy and in turn the cable and satellite television providers have been fighting back by letting those networks go black and no longer show on their services. This video discusses this very topic.
