Saturday sketches are happening again on my You Tube channel. The first of these sketches was released February 23. It is based on a fake-vlogging trip to an art gallery.
Last night Justin Bieber had the honour of hosting and performing on SNL. It didn’t take long for people to post hateful reviews and comments on the internet. For some reference for you, I am in no way, shape, or form a Bieber fan. I use to avoid his music, but the more grown up “As Long As You Love Me” and “Beauty and a Beat feat. Nicki Minaj” his actually bearable for a non-teenage girl. I actually do enjoy the seemingly never-ending soap drama that is Justin Bieber’s relationship with Selena Gomez.
Last night, Justin’s monologue was funny. At least I thought so… It wasn’t the funniest, but it isn’t anything to just plain hate. It was Justin giving some girls a rose for Valentine’s Day and then also giving them a Black History month fact that was totally wrong. Oddly, I don’t think this monologue had much singing which is rare for a music artist whose hosting for the night.
The first sketch of the night and probably the best sketch was “The Californians”. It is always the best sketch with its parody of drama on a soap. Usually they are always talking about the traffic and the roads that they take to get some place in the greater LA area which is always part of the drama. Justin was in this one and he did okay. Notice I haven’t once said he gave the performance of a lifetime. He kinda annoyed me in this sketch because it seems the only way he could do that embellished California valley girl accent was to close or squint his eyes when he spoke.
Bieber’s musical performance was one I wasn’t looking forward to at all. I knew he was going to perform the acoustic versions of his songs and that to me is dreadful. While I think his new album Believe is better and more listenable and for a bigger audience than his is usual “I’m going to get my first bra this weekend” type of audience, I don’t think he has the voice to do an acoustic album. It’s not adding anything new to the songs or making them better.
The rest of the night was okay. On the one sketch about Miley Cyrus having her own talk show, Bieber played a young boy who was Miley’s fan club operator. He again had that valley girl accent and was squinting his eyes when he spoke. He even threw in an apology for smoking pot and said he’ll never do it again through the character. My thoughts? Okay, you mean you’re sorry you got caught and you will do it in the privacy of your own home next time.
The past two SNL‘s have been fairly funnier then this one. That is just the game of sketch comedy though. Sometimes you hit it over and over again, and sometimes it fails to hit the mark. Last night’s show failed to hit the mark for me. I don’t blame this SNL on Bieber’s performance like some have. Once again, Bieber’s performance wasn’t anything to write home about. It seemed like he had a hard time memorizing his lines as well. There were quite a few places in various sketches that he misspoke or messed up his lines all together.
It wasn’t a horrible night all around though. You also should keep in mind that Justin Bieber isn’t an actor and hasn’t done anything in the realm of acting. He is a singer, a heart-throb to many girls, a pot smoker, and an asshole(we’ve all read about it and you know it) from time to time; not an actor.

The second video from this season of videos on the JakeLX Entertainment You Tube channel is “Adele”. I actually like Adele, but I do know people who don’t. This video was adapted from some of those such feelings that she seems to bring out of people. Overall, I think this is one of our best put together videos with a well written and funny script. Don’t you hate when you go into a restaurant to get some dessert after traveling for a long period of time on a trip and they don’t have what you are craving?
The character that I created, Melanie Pearazzisono has become a fan favourite for sure. I decided to create a pop culture type You Tube show with her as the host called “Simply Melanie”. This proved difficult to do weekly and by myself, so one episode I didn’t feature Melanie, but featured her manager instead. Then we get to episode six where we find “Simply Melanie” being cancelled. But after editing and everything I decided that this format was much better and “Simply Melanie” would not in fact be cancelled. It was going to return with a bi-weekly to once a month schedule and in the reality tv/sitcom format that episode six was. I went ahead and created a video that has all the link to all six of the previous sketches in one spot. Again, the only important episode is number six since that is how the newer ones will be.
01.06— No one likes to hear that their television show has been cancelled, especially not Melanie. No one also wants to be the one to tell Melanie that her show has been cancelled. While 2011 was said to be one of the worst years for the world in a whole in recent memory, it wasn’t all bad for me. 2011 brought to me a cold January and half of February with weekly or sometimes twice weekly snow storms. I am an avid winter and snow lover. Snow for me seems to just make everything in the world better. It started warming up mid-February and I saw no more snow and still haven’t and it will be January. Not happy about that one, 2011. In February my friend Kevin celebrated his 20th birthday by going to a strip club called Deja Vu. This was my first time ever at a strip club and it was an experience. After the 80th time of me saying I don’t want a lap dance, you would think they would get the clue that I don’t want one. They didn’t. I would have to say that some of these girls daddy issues have made them a real talent on the pole. All joking aside… I don’t know if I will ever go back. I guess you can say that isn’t my thing.
May 2011 will forever be remembered to me for being the month that my friend Kevin and I quit saying we were going to do sketches on You Tube and finally actually started making the sketches on You Tube and created our channel, JakeLX Entertainment. Surprisingly, we were a hit with our friends and family and weren’t bad at it. It is amazing to watch our first video “Touchin’ Cousins” and seeing how poorly acted it was and edited it was and to now watch our newer videos. The acting has sure improved and the editing is way better. In December I had to take down all of our original 15 or so videos because we had used copyrighted music. At first it was kinda sad for me, but it turns out it was a blessing. Now on our JakeLX Entertainment channel we have two videos. Two videos that are very well acted, edited, and with great stories. I believe our motto in 2012 will be quality over quantity. We learned in 2011 that you can put out a new video weekly, but that doesn’t mean they are great videos.
What is the future of JakeLX Entertainment? For starters I hope that it includes anyone that is reading this right now. I hope we get more viewers and I’m hoping that in 2012 we will have more people, like you, who like what you see and will spread our channel to their friends and family. I guess what I’m saying is that we strongly depend on you. I think 2012 will also be the year that JakeLX Entertainment and my friend Brandon’s channel, BrandonR24, will work a lot more closely. Our latest video “Holiday(Christmas) Party” was our first joint effort and it came off great. It was also the first time that I ever wrote any sort of script for any video. Normally, our videos are all improv, but not this one. I had an idea and the majority of the video was a script by me. Brandon added some scenes and shot a lot of the video. Everything wrapped up together into an awesome holiday themed video. We also used the joint logo “JLX-BR24″ for this video, so anytime you see that logo you will know that it was a joint effort.
In October I turned 21 and had an awesome party that I really appreciate everyone for coming to that did. My birthday week was an awesome one that I won’t ever forget. The Saturday after my birthday I had the chance to audition for “The Real World 27″. I woke up bright and early and was the second person in the door. I unfortunately wasn’t asked to stay back and didn’t get a call back. Bummer, right? Not! I did something that I had been wanting to do for forever. I would audition again, but who knows what will happen by the next time they are near me. The night after the audition I went to my first bar, The Soundbar. Now, I’m not too sure if I would classify it as a bar. It has a dance floor albeit small, and online is called a video lounge. The music is fast paced and so LOUD and I love it. It is so much fun and I always leave with my friends with huge smiles on our faces.
In November of 2011 I started using my JakeLX channel on You Tube as a personal vlog. It is a place where I talk about current events or whatever is on my mind. I even sometimes talk about personal stuff, though most of that is way too boring to talk to people about. I also have taken my character, Melanie Pearazzisono, which is loved by many and started an improved sketch show with her. It is a weekly news type show called “Simply Melanie” that is released every Friday. I plan for it to be the only sketch on my personal channel. It just isn’t something that fits well with the JakeLX Entertainment channel. In November I started this blog. Why? Because I try to only vlog once a day, but usually have a lot more to say and talk about. This blog gives me the chance to post multiple times throughout the day. It has had a slow start but is starting to get more and more views.
I guess you can say 2011 is the year that I started working towards a dream and became more social. While my dream of being famous and an actor are pretty new, they were always probably there. Something just had to pull them out of me. I am still attending college, but wish everyday that someone will find me on You Tube, Twitter, or on this blog and think I hae potential. It can happen and I feel like as long as I keep doing all of these things that I love maybe it will happen. It can happen. It will happen. So this is me saying that I am looking at a wonderful 2012 for not only myself, ut for everyone in the whole world!
Well, the holidays are not approaching, they are almost here. Hanukkah is a day away and Christmas is only six days away. I posted a few days ago about my, JakeLX Entertainment’s, newest video. It is called “Holiday(Christmas) Party” and was a collab with another You Tube channel, BrandonR24. This has seemingly been a success, so we will probably do more collabs in the future. This video is a gift for all of you this holiday season. What can you get for us?
