Taylor Goes British

Last night on The Grammy’s, Taylor Swift opened up the part performing her hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. I personally would have preferred her to perform her more recent and even bigger hit “I Knew You Were Trouble”. Imagine how awkward that would have been considering John Mayer was there with his new girl, Katy Perry.

Anyway, Taylor apparently has decided to be more cut-throat, as much as she can be, with her recent break-up. Who knew WANEGBT could be personalized each time Taylor and her current boyfriend becomes her ex. During the performance on the part where she says “He called me up and was like, I still love you”, she did what the “guy” was saying in a British accent. Her response was changed to “Sorry, I’m busy performing at The Grammy’s”.

This is sorta an appetizer for the song about Harry Styles that we are sure to hear in about a year and a half when Taylor’s next album comes out. If last night is any indication, she is quite bitter about this latest break-up from the fave 1D band-mate. I thought the dig at Harry was quite humourous coming from sweet little Taylor Swift.

I thought overall Taylor’s performance was pretty great. I thought the design seemed to be an Alice and Wonderland and circus themed design. The little guy on the tricycle with the flame thrower was awesome and so was the guy that looked like a puppet. It was a great, energizing was to launch the 55th Grammy’s Award Show.

Did you watch the Grammy’s last night? What were your thoughts on Taylor’s performance and the other artists performances? Let me know all of that down below in the comment section.

Miley Is Grown Up… Get Over It!

I am tired of hearing every time Miley Cyrus does something not child-like, the media and the public gets upset. I feel bad for her because it seems like people have a hard time letting go of the Hannah Montana identity. People, she’s twenty and engaged… She is so not the little girl that she once was. She can cut her hair without gaining our consent. She probably did it to start a new chapter of her life; to get rid of the look she has always had and is known for as Hannah Montana.

The newest issue of Cosmopolitan is the newest Miley scandal since she graces the cover with her inner boobs showing. It’s not like she is the centerfold and cover of the latest Playboy. I think it is a good move for her to do this cover the way she did it. Maybe it can finally get through to people that she isn’t a Disney channel starlet anymore. She is a new adult Miley with an adult haircut, new adult music(hopefully) coming out soon, and a husband.

Some people say she is alienating her fan base, but people seem to forget that her fan base is grown up as well. We aren’t the same younger kids as we were either. We are older and can handle her inner side boobs and her big girl haircut. I think some people think she must act conservatively because her father is a country singer. I ask you, have you seen some of the clothes those country women wear?

Just remember… She’s just being Miley.

Here is my first sketch comedy by myself since I am now running solo on these. If you like it, don’t forget to subscribe to this blog or most importantly my You Tube. This sketch is all improv. I thought it would be funny to make it a country person who was in this situation. I felt it should be a character that you wouldn’t have expected to be doing a job like this. Below you will find the synopsis of this sketch and the video of the sketch below that. Enjoy! -JakeLX

The Country Music Channel(CMC) presents: “True Video Diaries: I’m A Phone Sex Operator”… Listen to the heart breaking and heart warming story of Billy Joe from the outskirts of Macon, Georgia.

Let’s All Feel Sorry For John Mayer… Not!

John Mayer is trying to make a come back after a few years of being hardly seen or spoken too. You might remember his interview in Playboy and Rolling Stone that made people lose a taste for him. Now he si back with a new album and is doing interviews again. In the next issue of Rolling Stone John does an interview and discusses how Taylor Swift’s song “Dear John”, which is about him, wasn’t necessary. John says that he didn’t deserve it. I say he probably did deserve because he’s an asshole. Besides, anyone who dates Taylor Swift shouldn’t need a warning that if you break up with her or break her heart, that you will most likely get a song on her next album. She’s like a singer/songwriting succubus.

In the article linked below, John didn’t wanna go into details on what a line in the song where Taylor speaks of only being 19 and isn’t that a little young to be messed with. I figure he only just now brought this up from an album released in 2010 to somehow get his name back out in the spotlight. Bringing up old news like this makes him some what relevant again. He shouldn’t feel too bad about the song that has “humiliated” him, because the song is 6-7 minutes long and has his sound and his the one song on the Speak Now album that I always skip. It’s not like she made a number one hit based on their relationship. If you wanna hear “Dear John” click the link below and read their article and the song is below that.

Sugarland-Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse Court Case Continues

We’ve all heard about the stage collapse from a storm at the Indiana State Fair last August. Then the families of the victims that died when the stage collapsed on them filed a lawsuit which has been going on and is still going on. Apparently, there won’t even be a court date before April 2014. Do these families not want to move on instead of bringing up their pain constantly between now and 2014? The lawsuit against Sugarland is the most bogus one that I have read. Sugarland didn’t build the stage and probably had no say in whether or not to perform or not. The gust of wind that happened came from a storm that was still quite a bit of time away.

The weatherman couldn’t have predicted that the wind from a storm far off would hit the stage, so you can’t sue technology and you can’t sue the wind, so you sue the people who had everything set up so you could enjoy yourself and have fun. Demanding millions of dollars is not what you do and they certainly don’t deserve it. If anything should get paid, which I don’t feel anything should, it should only be the medical and funeral costs. Millions of dollars rewarded to each person who had a death isn’t going to bring that person back to life or replace them in your life. These people need to drop this petty and greedy case so that they can heal and not look like such dumbasses.

Miranda Lambert Hates Chris Brown

Miranda Lambert is not a shy girl by any means. Who thought she was? At last Sunday’s Grammy’s Miranda apparently was not pleased to see Chris performing two times in a row and then he won his first ever Grammy. She doesn;t like anyone supporting a guy who has beat on a women(of course we now know Rihanna must not care anymore). Miranda is even going as far as now incorporating a sign saying: “Chris Brown Take Notes” before she sings her song “Gun Powder and Lead” which I just learned is about a woman killing her abusive husband. Who knew? I sure didn’t. I guess her and Rihanna won’t be doing anything together like Rihanna and Sugarland did. Wonder how far this will go and if Chris Brown will respond? I say to Miranda, way to go!

Checkout the latest on what Rihanna and Chris Brown may or may not be up to together here!

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum Married

Over the weekend the state of New York was busy with the birth of Beyonce’s baby, Ivy Blue Carter; and Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum got married in upstate New York. I have to say that she always looks very pretty. I also didn’t realize she was so young, she’s only 25. It’s not that she look old or anything, I just don’t think she acts very 25ish. You can read more at the link below.

Safe and Sound-Taylor Swift feat. The Civil Wars

The first song off “The Hunger Games” soundtrack was released to generate buzz for the movie. Who was the singer they got to do it? Well of course country-pop sensation Taylor Swift. The music behind her voice is by a group that I have never heard of called The Civil Wars. I also think they lend backing vocals to the song. The song is a beautiful song that matches with the books so well. The words in the lyrics match well with all of the books and what happens in the books and what should happen in this movie trilogy. Taylor is known for writing most of her music on her own with very little help. It has me wondering if maybe Taylor is a fan of the books and was able to write this beautiful song? The reason I wonder is because of the lyrics matching so well with the book. If she didn’t write it, do we really care? Of course not because this song, these books, this movie, and Taylor Swift are all amazing.

The song being a country song also fits well. The two main characters in the books are from District 12 which seems to be described, though never actually said, as an area in Eastern Kentucky or somewhere in the state of West Virginia… Somewhere in the mountainous area of the Appalachian Mountains. They used The Civil Wars which is a Bluegrass music band which is fitting for where they are from. The song literally is perfect for the movie.

I figure the song won’t actually be in any of the movie. Like with “Breaking Dawn Part One” where “It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars was the song used to market the movie, but it was only played at the end during the credits. I imagine that is where we will see this song in “The Hunger Games”. Take a listen to the song below and tell me know what you think!

Sugarland Being Sued

I don’t understand why anyone who went through the Indiana State Fair stage collapse that Sugarland was supposed to perform on would want to sue Sugarland. From everything I have read the stage wasn’t even Sugarland’s stage, it was the fairgrounds. I know what happened was really one of the worst things to occur over the summer, but Sugarland wasn’t responsible for the storm that moved faster than expected and just sorta hit unexpectedly. Besides the contract may have said that Sugarland could cancel the show due to weather conditions, but even at the time the meteorologists said that the storm was 30 minutes to and hour away. The only reason why these people are going after Sugarland now is because the state of Indiana has capped the amount of damages they will pay for this event at $5 million which I am sure has already been paid out.

Obviously these people were there because they were fans of Sugarland. I can’t imagine suing Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, or Katy Perry if something were to happen at one of their concerts. I am a fan of their’s and unless it could be proven to be their fault, they don’t owe me anything. They don’t control mother nature and can’t control freak accidents. To sum things up I really feel like this is a ridiculous act of greed on the part of these concert goers. I know you can say, “Well, some are hurt badly.”, but Sugarland wasn’t to blame for them being hurt. That is how I see it and you won’t be changing my mind.
