Elena And Damon Break-Up

What I really meant to say, The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have broken up in real life, just like their characters on the hit CW show. I think this is very sad news because I really liked the both of them as a couple. Both have dark features and they just really went well together. They dated for a really long time in Hollywood terms. Over 3 years they spent together and I was beginning to think they would be a celebrity couple that stay together forever.

Oh, well! Just like The Vampire Diaries, this isn’t a fairytale and they weren’t meant to be forever I guess, Tell me your thoughts on their break-up in the comment section.

The Dog Is Out

Randy Jackson finally announced his departure from American Idol after 12 seasons and being the only remaining original judge. This came after rumours that FOX was seeking to replace all four of the current judges as a part of a complete makeover for the show next season. It was reported that no one knew he was going to do this on the show. Apparently Ryan Seacrest even joked with him about it during last nights show.

Randy has always been my least favourite judge. In the beginning he was overshadowed by Simon Cowell’s meanness and Paula Abdul’s craziness(drunkenness). His only thing that made anyone like him was his “dog” references, but even that grew old and tiresome. This season of Idol was the first season I had watched in two to three years and once again he was overshadowed by all the other chaos on the show this season.

I don’t really blame him for wanting to exit this sinking ship, even if they were going to get rid of him anyway. I think it is respectable that he announced his departure before the show could announce they were getting rid of all four judges. I think he truly stayed on the show for way too long and should have departed a few seasons ago.

Taylor Goes British

Last night on The Grammy’s, Taylor Swift opened up the part performing her hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. I personally would have preferred her to perform her more recent and even bigger hit “I Knew You Were Trouble”. Imagine how awkward that would have been considering John Mayer was there with his new girl, Katy Perry.

Anyway, Taylor apparently has decided to be more cut-throat, as much as she can be, with her recent break-up. Who knew WANEGBT could be personalized each time Taylor and her current boyfriend becomes her ex. During the performance on the part where she says “He called me up and was like, I still love you”, she did what the “guy” was saying in a British accent. Her response was changed to “Sorry, I’m busy performing at The Grammy’s”. 

This is sorta an appetizer for the song about Harry Styles that we are sure to hear in about a year and a half when Taylor’s next album comes out. If last night is any indication, she is quite bitter about this latest break-up from the fave 1D band-mate. I thought the dig at Harry was quite humourous coming from sweet little Taylor Swift.

I thought overall Taylor’s performance was pretty great. I thought the design seemed to be an Alice and Wonderland and circus themed design. The little guy on the tricycle with the flame thrower was awesome and so was the guy that looked like a puppet. It was a great, energizing was to launch the 55th Grammy’s Award Show.

Tired PSY

It seems that poor PSY, the South Korean, Gangnam Style, hit maker is tired of his own creation. You can’t blame the guy who has had his innocent song go viral all over the world. Literally, all over the world. The music video for Gangnam Style has now become the most watched video on You Tube with over 800 million views. He replaced Justin Bieber’s Baby video and got their way faster than Bieber did.

The song really is one of those that can get annoying and I can’t imagine having to sing and perform the song over and over and do that same dance over and over. It would probably be annoying to think that you are a well-known and respected music artist in your home country, but you are traveling the world singing the one hit that outside of South Korea most people will ever hear from you.

Music Video: Lolita- The Veronicas

Our favourite Aussie twin sisters, Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, who make up The Veronicas are back after a long hiatus. They have a fresh new album that is due out this fall in the US and the rest of the northern hemisphere and this spring in their native Australia and the southern hemisphere. The girls haven’t put out a new album since 2007, but they didn’t really have to since that was 2007 for Australia. That album, Hook Me Up, is what the girls used to go international and become known in the US. Many in the US would aren’t huge fans of them like me will probably only know them for their biggest single out of the three they released over here. That single was “Untouched” which did well here in the states.

Now the girls are back with a new single called “Lolita”. The single was released in Australia a few weeks ago, but the single has now been released here in the US as of August 29, along with the music video for it which was released on August 30. The song does have some what of a different sound, but you can surely hear that Veronicas sound in there as well. The music videos show the girls look more beautiful than ever as well as  more mature and older looking. The music video is badass with the girls and some other people in the background taking holding guns and then they let the guns start firing. Don’t worry though if you are worried since the US has been plagued by mass gun violence this summer, they aren’t shooting at people, they are saving the planet. I mean, their new album is called Life On Mars. You will have to take a look below:

Madonna Uses Guns

Madonna continued Saturday with not going along with what countries and government officials in certain countries have asked her not to do on her MDNA Tour. I understand that her performances are art and should be treated as such, but sometimes when a swastika or guns are involved, you just don’t do it. In case you didn’t know this, across the pond, gun violence isn’t taken lightly like it is here in North America. Movies and games are often edited due to gun violence so that they are able to be shown or sold with the same rating equivalent giving over here. I mean, even The Hunger Games had to edit out certain “violent” scenes to lower the rating in the UK. Living in North America, specifically the United States, I guess I’m so use to it, that I didn’t see anything wrong in The Hunger Games.

Anyway, back to the main point. Saturday, Madonna had a show in Edinburgh, Scotland where police officials asked her to not perform with fake guns like she had done at every show since the MDNA Tour started. They asked her to not use the guns because of the sensitivity of guns after the shooting at The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado this past Friday at a midnight showing. Do you think Madonna listened? Of course she didn’t.

Grandma Madonna needs publicity and went along with the show like she normally would. During that part of the show, Madonna marched out with pistol and an AK47 . Though they were fake, she could have complied with the police. The only reason why Madonna did this and some of the other stunts that she has pulled while on this tour this year is to get media attention. Clearly she has gotten it, I mean, here I am writing about her. She has gotten old, grumpy, hateful, and apparently no one pays her attention.

While Madonna is Madonna, she isn’t the Madonna that was edgy and got attention for being edgy when she was at her height of popularity. She has become a person who has to create headlines for herself, but not because she is creative and such, but because she is defying authority. Way to go, Madonna. Love her music, but really being turned off by who she is seemingly becoming these days.

Madonna Being Sued

Madonna has been showing a video of famous people’s faces. One of those faces happens to be Marnie Le Pen, whom is the leader of France’s National Front political party. Madonna shows Le Pen’s face with a swastika on her forehead. The party was formally known to be anti-Semitic and racist… An image they are trying to shred. The party threatened Madonna that they would take legal action if the video was played at a show in France back when her MDNA Tour started earlier this year. So, Madonna has shown it and now the National Front of France is suing the singer.
