Top Songs of Summer 2012 (#5-#1)

See the rest of the songs HERE:

#1. “Pontoon”- Little Big Town

Now I am not a country fan, however I feel like a the top summer song if available should be a song that includes having a good time doing something fun during the summer. This song got my number 1 because “Call Me Maybe” isn’t really a summer specific song despite it having to be the most played song of the summer. “Pontoon” also has really great lyrics and really turns into a song that is SUMMER and makes you feel like you are floating on the lake with your friends. It also helps that Little Big Town doesn’t seem to be TOO country.

-Released April 30, 2012

-First single from their new album Tornado(due out September 11, 2012)

-Peaked at #1 on the US Country Chart and #22 on the US Hot 100 chart

#2. “Call Me Maybe”- Carly Rae Jepsen

If you pick a summer song based on how viral the song is, how amny times it has been played on radio, and if you are hearing it everywhere, this song would be number one. Unfortuantly for Carl Rae, there was a summery song that that beat odds and went pretty high on the regular charts despite its genre not typically charting well unless you count Taylor Swift.

-Released September 20, 2011(Canada), February 20, 2012(Europe), February 22, 2012(US)

-First single off of Carly’s new album Kiss(due out September 18, 2012)

-Peaked at # 1 on US Pop Songs & Hot 100, #2 on US Adult Pop Songs, #4 on US Adult Contemporary, & #8 on US Hot Dance Club Songs charts.

-Certified Platinum 5x in the US

#3. “Lights”- Ellie Goulding

-Released March 13, 2011

-First US single and the sixth UK single from her debut album Lights(released February 26, 2010)

-Spent a year and three months on the US Hot 100 Chart before finally peaking at #2 this summer.

-It also charted# 1 on US Pop Songs, #4 on US Adult Pop Songs, #18 on US Adult Contemporary, & #32 on US Hot Dance Club Songs charts.

-Ellie Goulding’s second album comes out October 8, 2012

#4. “Feel So Close”- Calvin Harris

-Released August 19, 2011

-The second single from his new album 18 Months(due out October 29, 2012)

- Second song to chart(first one was “We Found Love” by Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris).

-Peaked at # 8 on US Pop Songs, #12 on US Hot 100, #28 on US Adult Pop, & #33 on US Hot Dance Club Songs charts.

#5. “Wide Awake”- Katy Perry

-Released May 22, 2012

-Second single off of the rereleased Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection(released March 26, 2012).

-Tenth #1 single on US Hot Dance Club Songs chart and her ninth #1 sing on the Mainstream Top 40(Pop Songs) chart tying her and Rihanna with the most #1’s on that chart.

-Also charted #2 US Hot 100(her eleventh consecutive top ten hit), #1 US Pop Songs, #1 US Adult Pop Songs, #10 US Adult Contemporary.

MTV Movie Awards Rant

The 2012 MTV Movie Awards was great this year for the most part. Russell Brand did a fantastic job at hosting and was very funny. I like how he doesn’t care to go there or talk about what others might seem “sensitive” subjects. He even poked fun at his own failed marriage which I think is great that he can do that. There were other bright spots throughout the awards, but my main rant is coming from the movies nominated.

I guess I had never really realized that pretty much any movie from the last MTV Movie Awards to the current one can be nominated for that current years show. I don’t like this. The 2012 awards should have only been for movies released during 2011, that’s January, 2011 thru December 31, 2011.The Hunger Games,as much as I love the books and movie shouldn’t have been able to be nominated for any awards considering it just came out in March of this year, 2012, not 2011. I believe it was the only movie that wasn’t released in 2011, but it still annoying. I really wish this would be changed, but I assume it has always been that way.

My only other problem with the show was that Breaking Dawn Part I brough the “Movie of the Year” to the Twilight franchise once again. I just feel like with last years great, unique movies they shouldn’t have won. There were so many great comedies that should have been able to win that award, Bridesmaids being my top choice followed by Horrible Bosses. I have to understand though, most of the voters are tween to teenage girls who are planning a pregnancy while watching 16 and Pregnant, so anything other than a Twilight movie ever stood a chance.

Adele Sticks Her Finger Up

People are raging here in America that sweet Adele would stick her middle finger up when she got cut off at The Britts. I would be pissed too if I had so much success and then I get cut off at the awards in my own country. Maybe they should plan better next time. I think many Americans were upset, but come on, she’s British. They have thicker skin than most of us and don’t get offended near as easily. Take “Skins” which was a thousand times worst in American standards than the TV version which got cancelled cause Americans couldn’t handle it. I say Adele, you earned that finger since you are the most awarded artist of the year at this point. everyone else? Calm your asses down. What they did was a very rude thing. You can see the video below of what happened… She doesn’t even do it for a long time.

Get Outta Here 2011… Welcome 2012!

While 2011 was said to be one of the worst years for the world in a whole in recent memory, it wasn’t all bad for me. 2011 brought to me a cold January and half of February with weekly or sometimes twice weekly snow storms. I am an avid winter and snow lover. Snow for me seems to just make everything in the world better. It started warming up mid-February and I saw no more snow and still haven’t and it will be January. Not happy about that one, 2011. In February my friend Kevin celebrated his 20th birthday by going to a strip club called Deja Vu. This was my first time ever at a strip club and it was an experience. After the 80th time of me saying I don’t want a lap dance, you would think they would get the clue that I don’t want one. They didn’t. I would have to say that some of these girls daddy issues have made them a real talent on the pole. All joking aside… I don’t know if I will ever go back. I guess you can say that isn’t my thing.

May 2011 will forever be remembered to me for being the month that my friend Kevin and I quit saying we were going to do sketches on You Tube and finally actually started making the sketches on You Tube and created our channel, JakeLX Entertainment. Surprisingly, we were a hit with our friends and family and weren’t bad at it. It is amazing to watch our first video “Touchin’ Cousins” and seeing how poorly acted it was and edited it was and to now watch our newer videos. The acting has sure improved and the editing is way better. In December I had to take down all of our original 15 or so videos because we had used copyrighted music. At first it was kinda sad for me, but it turns out it was a blessing. Now on our JakeLX Entertainment channel we have two videos. Two videos that are very well acted, edited, and with great stories. I believe our motto in 2012 will be quality over quantity. We learned in 2011 that you can put out a new video weekly, but that doesn’t mean they are great videos.

What is the future of JakeLX Entertainment? For starters I hope that it includes anyone that is reading this right now. I hope we get more viewers and I’m hoping that in 2012 we will have more people, like you, who like what you see and will spread our channel to their friends and family. I guess what I’m saying is that we strongly depend on you. I think 2012 will also be the year that JakeLX Entertainment and my friend Brandon’s channel, BrandonR24, will work a lot more closely. Our latest video “Holiday(Christmas) Party” was our first joint effort and it came off great. It was also the first time that I ever wrote any sort of script for any video. Normally, our videos are all improv, but not this one. I had an idea and the majority of the video was a script by me. Brandon added some scenes and shot a lot of the video. Everything wrapped up together into an awesome holiday themed video. We also used the joint logo “JLX-BR24″ for this video, so anytime you see that logo you will know that it was a joint effort.

In October I turned 21 and had an awesome party that I really appreciate everyone for coming to that did. My birthday week was an awesome one that I won’t ever forget. The Saturday after my birthday I had the chance to audition for “The Real World 27″. I woke up bright and early and was the second person in the door. I unfortunately wasn’t asked to stay back and didn’t get a call back. Bummer, right? Not! I did something that I had been wanting to do for forever. I would audition again, but who knows what will happen by the next time they are near me. The night after the audition I went to my first bar, The Soundbar. Now, I’m not too sure if I would classify it as a bar. It has a dance floor albeit small, and online is called a video lounge. The music is fast paced and so LOUD and I love it. It is so much fun and I always leave with my friends with huge smiles on our faces.

In November of 2011 I started using my JakeLX channel on You Tube as a personal vlog. It is a place where I talk about current events or whatever is on my mind. I even sometimes talk about personal stuff, though most of that is way too boring to talk to people about. I also have taken my character, Melanie Pearazzisono, which is loved by many and started an improved sketch show with her. It is a weekly news type show called “Simply Melanie” that is released every Friday. I plan for it to be the only sketch on my personal channel. It just isn’t something that fits well with the JakeLX Entertainment channel. In November I started this blog. Why? Because I try to only vlog once a day, but usually have a lot more to say and talk about. This blog gives me the chance to post multiple times throughout the day. It has had a slow start but is starting to get more and more views.

I guess you can say 2011 is the year that I started working towards a dream and became more social. While my dream of being famous and an actor are pretty new, they were always probably there. Something just had to pull them out of me. I am still attending college, but wish everyday that someone will find me on You Tube, Twitter, or on this blog and think I hae potential. It can happen and I feel like as long as I keep doing all of these things that I love maybe it will happen. It can happen. It will happen. So this is me saying that I am looking at a wonderful 2012 for not only myself, ut for everyone in the whole world!

Thank you for all the support,

JakeLX
